Let's start with a little back story. Our first session with this family was back in 2019; a super hot couple's session, surrounded by nature, in Great Falls, MD. Fast forward a few years, and the Iverson's are expecting their first baby boy (Yayyy!) We choose to shoot their Glam Maternity Session a bit closer to home, utilizing a local Southern Maryland gem, Jefferson Patterson Park in St. Leonard, MD. The session was magical and the photos were just phenomenal (see below).

A few short weeks later, Baby Blaise was here!

The Pre-Planning. This planning of this session was little unconventional compared to most. With almost any Newborn or Fresh-48 Session, as the due date approaches, you go into a "stand-by mode". We weren't exactly certain which day mom & baby would be released so we had to play it by ear and keep a flexible schedule. We received the confirmation on Friday, and photographed the family that very next day.

Location: A stunning waterfront home in Southern MD; bursting at the seems with natural light and a perfect neutral color palette. As for outfit selections, choosing baby's outfit first seems to alleviate a lot of the stress here and then coordinate the remaining outfits from there. Baby B was in an adorable burnt orange zip-up one-piece with a matching hat; Mom picked out an all white, floor length lace gown; and Dad leveled out the palette with a simple patterned, dark maroon shirt, and medium toned blue jeans. In my opinion, coordination is key :)

Its Photo Day. This specific session was on the calendar for less than 24 hours, but we totally rocked it. Upon our arrival, we were surprised to see Baby B wide awake and looking around with curiosity. That sweet treat lasted a brief few minutes before he fell asleep; nestled so snuggly between mom & dad. The rest of the session flowed ever so smoothly, and lasted about 90 minutes. Overall, the entire session was super laid-back, and moved along at its own perfect pace.
